New exhibition highlights Prophetic era in Medina’s expanded museum

The International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography in Medina has unveiled a new exhibition and digital platform. Featuring 20 sections of Prophetic history and interactive tools, alongside a multilingual library with 350+ resources, it enhances offerings ahead of Hajj pilgrimages.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization in Medina has expanded its offerings with a newly launched exhibition space and digital platform, presenting a deeper dive into Islamic history. Prince Salman bin Sultan, governor of Medina, and Mohammad Al-Issa, secretary-general of the Muslim World League, officially inaugurated the additions on Tuesday, as reported by Arab News.

The new pavilion offers a detailed portrayal of Medina during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), with over 20 sections showcasing significant religious, social, and cultural landmarks from that era. Highlights include panoramic visuals of the Prophet’s Chamber, interactive depictions of the mosque’s development, a tent exploring Prophetic medicine, and engaging visualizations of the Prophet’s daily routines.

Adding to the museum’s innovation, the Ithaf digital platform offers visitors virtual tours and access to a multilingual digital library containing over 350 books and encyclopedias focused on the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet (PBUH). Designed for an international audience, it aims to make Islamic knowledge more accessible and immersive.

The expansion comes as millions of pilgrims prepare for the Hajj pilgrimage next month, many of whom spend about a week in Medina as part of their journey.
